Dr. Subrata Naskar
Dr. Subrata Naskar is a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist based in Kolkata, India, known for his compassionate, evidence-based approach to mental-health care and his leadership within the psychiatric community. He completed his MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College and MD in Psychiatry from Silchar Medical College, followed by advanced training at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, where he specialised in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Family Therapy.
Dr. Naskar worked for six years as Consultant Neuropsychiatrist at the Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata (I-NK), one of eastern India’s leading tertiary-care centres for neurological and psychiatric disorders. During this tenure, he managed complex neuropsychiatric cases and participated in multidisciplinary collaborations integrating psychiatry, neurology, and behavioural sciences.
With a vision to make mental-health care more personal, accessible, and stigma-free, he founded Psynapse Clinic, a comprehensive neuropsychiatry and wellness centre in Kolkata. His clinical focus spans mood and anxiety disorders, neuropsychiatric conditions, and digital-era challenges, with a special interest in the treatment of substance-use and behavioural addictions. Dr. Naskar’s practice emphasizes empathy, precision, and patient education—helping individuals and families achieve sustainable psychological well-being.
He serves as Treasurer of the Indian Psychiatric Society, West Bengal State Branch (IPS-WBSB); Convener of the Professional Development Subcommittee, IPS East Zone; and Convener of the School Education and Counselling Subcommittee, Indian Association of Private Psychiatry (IAPP). Through these roles, he actively promotes psychiatric education, mentorship of young professionals, and the integration of mental-health literacy in schools and communities.
A frequent speaker and panelist at academic programs, CMEs, and professional conferences across Kolkata and eastern India, Dr. Naskar contributes to ongoing discussions on neuropsychiatry, addiction, and digital mental health.
He is also the creator of Psynapse Talks, a podcast and digital education platform dedicated to demystifying mental-health issues such as screen addiction, anxiety, and dementia for the general public.
